Inside the Trichome Bros Testing Environment
Seed runs live in one tent. Pack tests live in another. Outside pops live in a third.
That split is the Trichome Bros testing environment. We make seeds, then pop our own packs and watch whether the family still behaves like the family. Outside seed gets popped too, when a cut or a cross might earn a spot next to Devil’s Candy, Four Peaks, Mango Madness, Chernobyl, or Chillz. Those three jobs do not share air, soil, or a light.
Tents are how we keep the rooms apart. Fans, filters, and tent brands are the boring part. Instead, lighting, soil, and nutrients are what change the read. If a note does not say which of those three it was grown under, the note is incomplete.
Packs on this site are novelty / souvenir items. They contain 0% THC. Buyers must be 21+. We ship inside the United States only. Read the FAQ before checkout.
What the rooms are actually for
A tent is not a vibe. It is a job.
Seed production. Reversals and pollinations stay isolated. Pollen is the point of that room, and it is also the reason that room does not host a hunt. A seed run is not where we decide whether an outside pack belongs in the catalog.
Our own packs. We germ, veg, and flower Trichome Bros feminized photoperiods and write down what repeats. Structure. Stretch after flip. Flower window. Frost. Terp family. Color, if the line is supposed to throw color. A line page is not a promise that every seed is a clone of the cut on the label. The rooms are where we check the family against the page.
Outside breeders. If something might sit next to an existing line, it gets its own tent. We are not looking for a trophy jar. We are looking for a parent that still makes sense after we have grown it under more than one light. Pretty under a single fixture is not a pass.
We will not publish a run plan from these rooms. If you already bought a pack and need a line pointed, use grower support. Tell us candy, citrus, or tropical. Tell us flower or wash. We will point at a line. We will not write a recipe.
Why the light wall is mixed
One fixture does not get every job.
For example, a seed run wants stable intensity and a spectrum we already know. A pack test wants enough intensity to show stretch, color, and resin, not a light so hot that every plant looks stressed and the note becomes about the fixture. An outside pop sometimes gets HID on purpose, so we can see the plant without the newest diode recipe doing the talking.
Also, we dim. We do not run every bar at the sticker wattage. An 800W optic fixture at full chat is a different test than a 315W CMH. The sheet says which light was overhead, and roughly where it was dimmed. If it does not, we do not score the plant off that run.
Bar LEDs
- Mammoth Lighting Nova Sun Series 6 Bar, 720W. Sunlike CMH-style spectrum with emerald green and dual-red terp boost. This is the reference full-spectrum bar in the wall. When we want a diode fixture that still behaves like the ceramic light we already trust, this is the one that gets the tent.
- HortiBloom Mega Optic 800W with lenses + IR. Optic lenses, Samsung and Osram diodes, far-red in the mix. Used when we want the beam kept on the canopy instead of the tent walls. Lenses change the read. Hotter center, less spill. We do not treat it as the same test as an open-bar 700.
- NextLight Mega Pro, 640W. A known commercial bar. Useful as a middle-intensity check against the bigger 700W-class fixtures, not as the hero light of the room.
- Spider Farmer SE7000, 730W. High-output Samsung bar. Flower-coverage fixture. Not a seedling light, and not the first place a fresh pop goes.
- Spider Farmer G5000. Smaller footprint than the SE7000. Lands on tents that do not need a 700W-class bar, including earlier veg and tighter pack tests.
- FloraFlex 700W. Another full-spectrum bar in the rotation. Even spread, dimmable, easy to match to a 4x4 when we want a second opinion at the same wattage class.
Smaller bars
- RDJ Bouns Growline, 720W. Six-bar, full spectrum with 660nm and IR. Spelled Bouns on the fixture. It hangs clean in a 4x4 or 5x5 and dims, so it picks up tents that need a full-size bar without a special spectrum story.
- Grow Pros Solutions HM480, 480W. Harvest Master series. 4x4 flower, or a wider veg footprint. Controller-friendly if that tent is on external dimming.
- Mars Hydro FC-4000, 320W. The small bar. Propagation, early veg, and any tent that should not see 700W. A seed does not need a flower bar to prove it can pop.
HID still in the room
LEDs are most of the wall. HID is still here on purpose. Some plants tell the truth under a single-source lamp in a way they do not under a diode bar, and we want that read before a cut gets close to the catalog.
- Grower’s Choice 315W CMH. Ceramic metal halide. We keep a CMH in rotation because a chunk of the Nova Sun series was built to chase that spectrum. Useful when we want a single-source ceramic read next to the 6-bar, not instead of a note from the bar.
- Mass Metal Halide 600 Watt Bulb, Quantum 600W ballast, iPower air-cooled reflector. This is not a generic 600W halide. It is the Mass Metal Halide 600W, the full-spectrum lamp they rate as a 6000K midday-sun spectrum with UV and IR in the mix, about 60,000 lumens, run on a matched Quantum 600W ballast in an iPower air-cooled hood. Mass Hydroponics lists it for a flower footprint up to 4x4 and rates the bulb enclosed. We do not dim this ballast. Bulb wattage matches ballast wattage. The air-cooled reflector is what lets us hang it in tent range without cooking the room. We keep it for the HID read: older spectrum, real heat, one source. If an outside cut only looks right under the Mega Optic and falls apart under this lamp, that is a note, not a pass.
Soil: what is standard, what is on trial
Medium changes the plant as much as the light. We do not pretend otherwise.
House mix: PRO-MIX HP with mycorrhizae.
This is the soil. It has been the main mix since before Trichome Bros, about 15 years. High perlite. High air. It dries faster than a peat-and-compost living soil, which makes overwatering harder and salt flushing easier. The mycorrhizae are the AGTIV REACH endomycorrhizae in the current HP bags. If a pack test or a seed run is on HP, we already know how that pot behaves, how fast it dries, and what a normal feed looks like in it. The catalog notes were written in this mix. New notes have to be able to sit next to those.
On trial this round: Riverview Living Soils Performance Blend.
This is new. It is not the house mix.
Riverview, on trial
We are trying it because we check new things, and we want to see if it improves anything in the grow. Not because HP failed. Performance Blend is a living soil from Columbia, Missouri. Peat, in-house worm castings, compost, charged biochar, perlite, and vermiculite, plus a heavier organic charge aimed at high-production plants. Riverview lab-tests batches. The pitch is water-and-go biology instead of a bottle schedule: worm castings and compost for the biology, biochar in the base, a longer organic charge behind it.
We are running it beside HP, not instead of HP. Same genetics, different pot, where the tent allows. We want to see whether vigor, color, and flower timing still match the HP notes, or whether the living soil moves the read enough that we should not score a pheno off it alone. However, a faster start in a charged living soil is not the same thing as a better cut.
A soil trial does not change the catalog. Because of that, a line does not get rewritten because one tent got a new bag.
Nutrients: two Blue Planet systems
Both systems in the rooms are Blue Planet Nutrients. We do not cross them inside one trial.
Farmer’s Pride High Yield System. The organic-leaning base. Enzymatically digested alfalfa, fish, kelp, bone meal, and composted high-nitrogen bat guano. This is the system we already know. It has been run in PRO-MIX HP, not only in a living soil. Biology first. Bottles second. If Performance Blend is already charged, Farmer’s Pride stays light. We are not stacking a hot organic base on a hot living soil and then blaming the plant for the claw.
Elite Series High Yield System Deluxe. The mineral bench. Elite Grow, Micro, and Bloom, plus the deluxe supplements: Easy Weed soluble seaweed, Vita Blue, Root Magic mycorrhizae, Early Bloomer, and Liquid Blue. We brought this in last round to see how it reads against Farmer’s Pride. It is still in the works. Fast uptake on paper. Easier to hold a number, if the trial agrees. No catalog note gets written off Elite until that round is finished.
Farmer’s Pride notes stay on Farmer’s Pride. Elite notes stay on Elite. Likewise, mixing the two and then scoring a cut is how you blame a plant for a bottle.
Feed charts stay in the room. We are not publishing one.
In the rooms this round
Three lists. Trichome Bros work, then outside packs we are popping to see if one earns a cross.
Planted October 2026. Tents are in more than one location. This post is the room and the sheet, not a flower report. The last round did not give us clean photos. Pictures go up when this planting has something to show.
Lhotse line, in development
Lhotse is already a pack. E-85 × Four Peaks. Fuel, pine, heavy resin, 56–63 days on the product page. The line built on that cut is not in the shop yet. It is in the rooms.
- Lhotse S1 — Lhotse × Lhotse. The self. This is the check on the cut before the crosses get a page.
- Lit OG × Lhotse
- Devil’s Candy × Lhotse — not Leviathan Lush. Leviathan Lush is the other direction: Lhotse seed, Devil’s Candy reversal. This pack is Devil’s Candy seed, Lhotse reversal.
- Biscotti OG × Lhotse
- Coco Chanel × Lhotse
- Deathstar × Lhotse
- Cosmic 22 × Lhotse
Devil’s Candy is our cut, Devil Driver × Runtz. Four Peaks is already the other parent of Lhotse, so this line sits next to that family on purpose. None of these seven are a release. A name here means we are running it. It does not mean the pack is live, and it does not mean every seed is the cut.
We said the Lhotse line would be at Terpnami, December 5–6, 2026, in San Francisco. This is the work behind that sentence. Pack notes, if they earn them, get their own post. Nothing in this list is a release.
Back in a tent
Older Trichome Bros work, popped again. Same sheet as a new pack. A re-hunt does not jump the line just because it already had a name.
- Four Peaks — Sour Strawberry Pie #7 × Chernobyl (Slymer Cut). Strawberry-citrus, lemon-lime backbone, 63–70 days, wants a net. First public drop was Terpnami. We are running it again.
- 2AM Strawberry Stoopid — Slightly Stoopid Fruits × Mango Madness. Mango Madness side of the catalog. Tropical and strawberry, not a Four Peaks redo.
- Chillz F2 — Chillz #5 × Chillz #8. Compact side of the lineup. Hunted from unreleased Capulator Chillz (Freezerburn × Pakistani Chitral Kush). The F2 is the check on whether the short, frosty, chewable-vitamin structure still holds after the second generation.
Outside packs this round
Other breeders. Their tents, not ours. In fact, a name here is a pop, not a collab, and not a promise it joins the line.
- Hawaiian Budline 710 Papaya — 710 Papaya × Secret Hawaiian R1
- Tree1Four Genetics Suplex — Gary Strawnana × RKO
- Happy Dreams Genetics / CHAnetics Egyptian Papaya — Egyptian Gold × Papaya Bomb
- Exotic Genetix Lemon Drip — Lemon Tree × Grease Monkey
- Greenhouse Seed Co Super Silver Haze — Skunk × Northern Light × Haze, as printed on the pack
- Sin City Seeds Raskal Berries F2 — White Strawberry × Blue Power
Same sheet as our own packs. Germ first. Then feminized stability. Stretch measured. Window watched. If it only looks right in one tent, it does not get a Trichome Bros name.
What gets written down
No feed chart. First, the sheet is the plant, then the room.
- Germ rate. Counted, not guessed. This is the number we stand behind on packs bought on this site: 90%+.
- Stability on feminized packs. Males, and herms that throw pollen.
- Stretch. Measured after flip, not eyeballed.
- Flower window. Watched against the last run of that pack, and against the line page if it already has one.
- A second and third run when we can. Earlier than last round, then later. We want to know if the window moves, or if the plant was just pulled on a date.
- Terp family. Candy, citrus, tropical, fuel, or compact-sweet. Not a poem.
- Whether the same story shows up under a second light.
Soil and bottle go on the same sheet. HP on Elite is not Riverview on Farmer’s Pride. A note that skips either one is incomplete.
What fails a pack
Germ kills more packs than anything else in these rooms. A pretty plant that will not pop reliably does not get a Trichome Bros name. People buying a 3, 6, or 10 need the seed to start. That is the bar.
In addition, a high herm rate fails a pack too. Pollen in a feminized tent is not a pheno note. It is a fail. A male in a feminized pack is the same call.
Next, a flower window that will not sit still across runs is a problem. So is stretch we cannot describe, and terps that do not match the family. A plant that only looks right under the HortiBloom Mega Optic, or only looks right in the Riverview bag, does not pass either.
One pretty run is a photo. Two rooms that agree is a note we keep. A fail stays in the room.
What a pass looks like
A plant does not join the line because it looked good under one light.
We want the same story in more than one tent, and more than one pull date. Germ that matches what we tell buyers. Feminized stability that holds. Stretch we measured. A flower window that still lands when we run it earlier, then later. Frost and terps that still show up when the fixture changes. A parent that breeds, not just a keeper jar.
Outside seed gets the same sheet. If it only looks right under the HortiBloom Mega Optic, or only looks right in the Riverview bag, it does not get a Trichome Bros name. The Mass Metal Halide tent is part of that check. So is HP on Farmer’s Pride. Ultimately, one pretty run is a photo. Two rooms that agree is a note we keep.
What this page is not
This is not a gear list to copy. Wattage on a box is not PPFD at the canopy. Also, PRO-MIX HP and Riverview Performance Blend are not interchangeable in a feed chart. Blue Planet Elite and Farmer’s Pride are not the same bottle with different labels. A Mass Metal Halide 600W on a Quantum ballast is not “a 600W light” you can swap for any bar at the same wattage.
It is also not a promise that your tent will match ours. Your light, your pot size, and your dry-back will move the plant. The line pages describe the family. They do not describe your room.
Feminized photoperiod packs. 3, 6, and 10. Novelty / souvenir only. 0% THC. 21+ to purchase. United States shipping only.
Shop the lineup. Germ questions sit in the FAQ. Line questions after a purchase go to grower support.
